NFL Owns Up to Controversial Mistake in Rams-Broncos Week 3 Game

Rams' Sean McVay claims the NFL admitted that the wrong call was made on a controversial play in their Week 3 loss to the Broncos.

The Los Angeles Rams and head coach Sean McVay are set to prepare for a tough matchup on paper against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. However, McVay spent a portion of his time with reporters on Wednesday discussing the controversial ending to the team's Week 3 loss to the Denver Broncos. Fans of the Rams left Sunday's Week 3 game against the Broncos quite upset after what could have potentially been a game-sealing interception from Rams cornerback Josh Wallace with 1:15 remaining in the fourth quarter was nullified by a pass interference call on Wallace.

While the Broncos did have three timeouts at the time of the nullified interception and plausibly could have gotten another opportunity to get the ball back, the Rams would have needed just one first down to essentially salt the game away had they gotten the ball from the interception given how little time was remaining in the game. Instead, the Broncos would of course go on to score a touchdown on that same drive to give them a 30-26 lead they would not relinquish. But clearly, McVay, who notably ducked out of his postgame press conference, seemingly in frustration, following the game, still seems to be quite upset about the incorrect call that had significant ramifications. Regardless of how McVay feels about the call, he will need to get his team ready for a matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, who themselves are looking to bounce back after an embarrassing loss in Week 3 to backup quarterback Case Keenum and the Chicago Bears.
