When it comes to NFL defenders, Micah Parsons is among the best in the league, landing in this year's top 10 of the NFL Top 100 Players list. On Wednesday, the NFL revealed Parsons is No. 8 on this year's list, as voted on by fellow players in the league. That's a jump up from the 36th spot on the 2025 edition of the list.
The Packers' defensive end's spot reveal arrived with a video showcasing Parsons' talents on the football field, along with commentary from teammates, opponents, and Parsons. "Point to the sky if you're in the NFL Top 100," the Packers wrote in an X post announcing their defensive star's landing spot. Last season was his debut season with Green Bay after being traded from his former team the Dallas Cowboys to the Packers in August 2025. He racked up 19 solo tackles last season and 12.5 sacks, which was seventh in the NFL. Parsons also had two forced fumbles and a pass defense in a season in which he only played in 14 games.
"When we played Detroit the first game, he was literally sprinting off the edge but chasing the quarterback, and then went and dove," former teammate Romeo Doubs said. "Dude's just fast, bro." "That just goes to the effort and the mentality that you got to keep hunting," Parsons said, reacting to highlights showing him sacking Lions quarterback Jared Goff and the Dallas Cowboys' Dak Prescott. The landing spot is likely a nice reward for Parsons as he heads into this new season, which will start a bit later than usual due to his injury recovery.
He was sidelined last year with a torn ACL and meniscus in his left knee after suffering a non-contact injury while trying to chase down Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Parsons' return will be pivotal for a Packers team that reached the postseason last year, then fell to the Bears in the NFC Wild Card Round without Parsons playing. He's expected back for Week 6, in a matchup against his former team, the Cowboys, for "Sunday Night Football" on Oct. 18.
