The Kansas City Chiefs took down the Indianapolis Colts in a "Sunday Night Football" overtime thriller, securing a 33-30 final score at Arrowhead Stadium. After Treadwell reeled in the pass, he got up off the turf and attempted to continue his run toward the end zone. Chiefs defensive back Nohl Williams punched the ball out and the fumble was recovered by Kansas City. This play would have ended the game with a 30-27 final score for the Chiefs, but the call was ultimately reversed upon replay review.
Treadwell was ruled down by contact by the slimmest of margins. The Colts settled for a game-tying field goal, unable to fully capitalize on this replay reversal. The Chiefs then had time to respond, getting into field goal range for a game-winning kick from Harrison Butker.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is glad officials overturned the fumble call, so there's no doubt that they were the deserved winners of Sunday night's primetime game. "I was actually kinda glad, I didn’t want to see twitter's reaction if they would’ve called it a fumble.” The 2-0 Chiefs will face off against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3.
