When it came time to release the 2026-2027 schedule for “ManningCast” NFL coverage, Peyton and Eli Manning figured the only sensible rollout was a 16-minute heist movie that featured a giant stunt and cameos from 40 of their A-list buddies in the world of sports and entertainment. This time we tried to go even bigger and shoot a mini movie. We grew up watching a lot of action movies, and I’d say the ‘ManningCast: Heist’ is our attempt to do an action movie in our own admittedly ridiculous way.” In the video, Peyton and Eli need to change the “ManningCast” schedule (they were scheduled to broadcast Week 6, but, see, Peyton has book club that week).
Eli suggests they call Roger Goodell and ask him to change the date, but the NFL commissioner declines his call. The only solution: the brothers must break into the NFL office, hack the computer system and change the “ManningCast” schedule themselves. What ensues is a twisty, celebrity-packed heist that involves Anne Hathaway, Paul Rudd, Serena Williams, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Travis and Jason Kelce, Pete Davidson, Marshawn Lynch, Rob Gronkowski and Larry David, who questions the whole plan.
There’s a night watchman. What a bunch of blithering idiots,” David says, berating them. With comedic all-stars like David, Rudd and — let’s face it — Gronk, the Mannings made sure the script wasn’t too tight.
How did they get all these stars to cameo? Mostly cold calling friends, Peyton says. To make it “quick and painless for the players and coaches,” the Mannings rounded up NFL talent where they already were: at the Pro Bowl, Super Bowl and owners’ meetings.
And for many of the celebrities, “the Omaha team organizes filming wherever it’s most convenient. We certainly do a lot on small green screen setups within 15 minutes.” Peyton and Eli filmed their parts over two days on a set made to resemble the NFL headquarters. But the planning process for “ManningCast: Heist” began in late 2024, with the production process spanning more than a year and a half, according to Peyton.
The Mannings’ mission climaxes with Rudd and Hathaway coaching them out of the building before Goodell and his security staff catch them. I want you to pick up those heels!” Hathaway screams into a walkie talkie, encouraging them to jump out of the building. So, Peyton and Eli run straight into a window, shattering the glass and parachuting out of the skyscraper.
