Thousands turned out across Yorkshire on Wednesday evening to catch a glimpse of the most significant solar eclipse since the turn of the millenium. Those watching the astronomical phenomenon were treated to a partial eclipse, which peaked shortly after , when many saw more than 90% of the sun covered by the moon. An eclipse happens when the sun, moon and earth are in alignment.
