Raiders DE Maxx Crosby Takes Strong Stance on Potential Trade: Report

An NFL insider revealed the latest positions of Maxx Crosby and the Las Vegas Raiders regarding a potential trade.

Toward the end of last season and during the offseason, Maxx Crosby was a highly coveted trade target for multiple teams looking to bolster their defense. He was nearly a member of the Baltimore Ravens, but he failed a physical in Baltimore, which canceled that deal and returned Crosby to Las Vegas. This season, things seemingly cooled off with Crosby trade speculation.

On Sunday, NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that league sources told ESPN that Crosby "does not appear to be going anywhere." He also reported, via sources, that there haven't been any discussions between the Raiders and other teams about a deal. However, an offer involving two first-round picks could potentially change the Raiders' thinking, since they're building for the future with their rookie phenom quarterback. The Tennessee Titans parted ways with their All-Pro Jeffery Simmons for that in a major trade with the Chicago Bears last week.

"Maxx absolutely does not want to leave Las Vegas under any circumstances. His hope, though not in his full control, is that he remains a Raider for life," a source told ESPN.

Based on the latest details, Crosby appears intent on remaining part of the silver-and-black and could end his career there one day. The five-time Pro Bowl selection was a fourth-round pick for the Raiders in 2019. Ahead of Sunday's matchup with the New York Jets, Crosby had racked up 457 total tackles, 71.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, and one interception in his eight seasons playing for the Oakland/Las Vegas franchise.

The Raiders have performed well with veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins leading the offense, while No. 1 overall Fernando Mendoza is watching from the sidelines and awaiting his chance to take over. A win over the Jets on Sunday would improve the Raiders to 4-4 as they look to remain competitive in the AFC West with the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs.
