The Las Vegas Raiders are hoping the start of the Klint Kubiak era brings some life to an offense that needs it, and Charles Grant gave them more reason to believe in the preseason opener. The 2025 third-round pick played 31 snaps against the Cardinals and looked awesome doing it, earning an 82.4 overall PFF grade. His performance in the run game was extra noteworthy, with Grant posting a 90.8 run-blocking grade.

That's not a perfect outing, but the overall performance was certainly good for a young tackle trying to make his case. The Raiders aren't currently expected to hand Grant a starting job. This team has their starting tackles already, leaving Grant with some work to do if he wants to crack the lineup.
But, that's where a strong preseason can change things. If Grant continues playing at this level, Las Vegas could have a decision to make at right tackle. The rookie has already shown he can hold his own, and another month of solid performances would make it increasingly difficult to keep him on the sidelines.

Grant isn't going to win a job based on one preseason game, no matter how impressive it was to the coaching staff. Still, he couldn't have asked for a much better first audition.
For an offense looking for signs that things are moving in the right direction, Grant's debut was a welcome one. Now he'll get the chance to show that it wasn't just a very good night and nothing more.
