The Philadelphia Eagles dropped a disappointing home loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, blowing a fourth-quarter lead against Matthew Stafford and his visiting squad. The Rams scored 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and held the Eagles offense to zero points in the second half. Los Angeles running back Kyren Williams secured victory with a go-ahead touchdown run with just over one minute remaining in the contest.
After this game-winning touchdown, Rams coaching staff up in the sky-box got into a heated confrontation with Eagles fans at Lincoln Financial Field. Eagles fans hurled obscenities, middle fingers and water bottles at the glass separating the Rams coaching staff. The coaches responded with middle fingers and obscene gestures of their own.
The Eagles offense failed to convert on a 4th-and-goal opportunity that would've sealed the game in the fourth quarter. The team also put forth a historically-bad performance on 3rd down — failing to convert any of their 12 opportunities throughout the game. Los Angeles turns its attention toward a Week 5 matchup against the Buffalo Bills next Monday, while Philadelphia prepares for a Week 5 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday.
