Rams’ Insane Australia Travel Schedule Has NFL Fans Talking

The Los Angeles Rams have an absurd, whirlwind travel schedule for their upcoming matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers have been in Australia since this past Friday, preparing for their season-opening matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams, who are still in Los Angeles as of Tuesday morning, are taking a far different approach in their preparation. Sean McVay's team is practicing in LA this morning and will leave for Melbourne later this evening.

Wednesday will be completely lost to travel as the Rams are scheduled to reach their destination on Thursday morning. They'll kick off at 10:35 a.m. local time on Friday and leave for the United States immediately following the conclusion of the game. Sports business reporter Joe Pompliano provided a detailed description of the Rams' whirlwind travel schedule on social media.

"That means the Rams will spend more than 30 hours on an airplane, travel over 15,000 miles, cross 7 time zones, and play a football game, yet technically be back in Los Angeles less than 72 hours after leaving," Pompliano wrote. NFL fans responded to this insane travel schedule with a variety of reactions on social media. "Quite the assumption that they’ll be able to get a good night’s rest on a plane before game day," one wrote.

"All this demonstrates is how stupid it is to have games in Australia," another said. "This is an insane 2 days for the Rams," another added. "As someone who has been to Australia, I cannot fathom doing this.

Took me 4 days before I felt like myself. We’ll see!" another wrote. For American fans, this Week 1 matchup between the Rams and 49ers will kickoff at 8:35 p.m.
