Baltimore Ravens center Danny Pinter was in line to replace three-time Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum, who signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency this offseason. However, that no longer seems to be the case after he suffered an injury this week. According to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo, Pinter suffered a torn patella tendon in yesterday’s joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings, ending his 2026 season before it even started.
It's certainly a tough blow to the Ravens offensive line, especially after it already lost a player of Linderbaum's caliber during the offseason. However, the team may already have Pinter's replacement on the roster in veteran Ethan Pocic. Unfortunately, Pocic is also not completely healthy as he is coming off a season-ending torn Achilles tendon, but Ravens head coach Jesse Minter did reveal they are targeting the second week of preseason to increase Pocic’s workload, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.
If that is true, Pocic's return will come at just the right time. Pinter began his professional career as a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. He spent the first six years of his career in Indianapolis before joining the Ravens this offseason.
He has been able to stay relatively healthy throughout his career, outside of missing the 2023 season with a broken ankle, but his latest injury now becomes his second season-ending injury. A native of South Bend, Indiana, Pinter played college football at Ball State, where he transitioned from tight end to offensive tackle and was an All-Mid-American Conference first-team honoree in 2019.
