Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson injured his left ankle near the end of the first half of Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Jackson did not return to the field in the second half, and left M&T Bank Stadium wearing a protective walking boot. Jackson is scheduled to undergo MRI testing on Monday to determine the severity of his injury.
According to report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the star signal caller is considered "day-to-day." Sports injury expert Dr. Jesse Morse speculated about the severity of Jackson's injury on Sunday. "Left high-ankle sprain, hopefully a mild grade 1 I expect him to miss the rest of the game if the high/medial ankle is sprained, especially since they’re up 24-7.
Not worth the risk," he wrote on social media. Jackson replied to this post with a 1-word statement. Despite Jackson's absence, the Ravens went on to win with a 24-18 final score.
Backup QB Tyler Huntley completed eight of his nine pass attempts for 63 yards, while Derrick Henry rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown against his former team. "He was just dealing with a little bit of an ankle," Ravens head coach Jesse Minter said of Jackson postgame. "I don't know enough about it right now, but we'll have to see where that's at." The Ravens will face off against the Atlanta Falcons in a Week 5 matchup this coming Sunday.
