The Boston Red Sox would be wise to open up contract extension talks with starting pitcher Payton Tolle. Tolle, 23, has been superb this season, putting together an 8-6 record with a 2.97 ERA, 1.061 WHIP, and a 3.21 FIP since rejoining the big leagues on April 23. Tolle, despite already surpassing his previous career-high in innings pitch during one season, also happens to lead the starting rotation in strikeouts (128), hits allowed per nine innings (7.1), and strikeouts per nine innings (10.0).
