"What I'm most proud of is that my career lasted long enough for me to see little girls grow up watching SportsCenter, enter this business and succeed in it," she said in a statement at the time. Just two months later, she took aim at her former employer for its coverage of Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.
In early July, ESPN personality David Dennis Jr. suggested Clark wasn't a top four guard in the league this season and his comments have since gone viral on social media a handful of times. Nearly two months after he first made the comments, Cohn reposted a video of the comments with the caption, "Need a laugh?" Dennis doubled down on his comments, albeit with a slight concession, when he returned to work following a two-week vacation.
"I think I’d put CC #4 right now. Paige [Bueckers], Olivia [Miles] and Kelsey [Plum] are all still above her and there’s not really any way I’m coming off that right now. CC is still in the tier right below," he said.
It's unclear if Dennis' opinion of Clark has changed in the weeks since his comments, but she currently sits tied for the league lead with 8.4 assists per game and is third in scoring behind Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson and teammate Kelsey Mitchell.
