Thursday's joint practice between the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears featured a tense moment after 10th-year NFL veteran Xavier Woods laid out wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson. Titans players immediately went after Woods in a scuffle, according to multiple reporters on the scene. Robinson was forced to leave practice after the hit and is being evaluated for a concussion, according to Titans head coach Robert Saleh.
Saleh clearly wasn't happy with the incident, calling the hit from Woods "cheap." "Now we're checking Wan'Dale for a concussion," Saleh said. "Cheap." Robinson signed a four-year, $78 million contract with the Titans earlier this offseason — joining the team as a key contributor in the passing game. The fifth-year wide receiver is slated to start alongside rookie Carnell Tate and veteran Calvin Ridley.
The Titans and Bears will take the field for their preseason finale on Saturday evening. Tennessee will then open up its regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the New York Jets on Sept. 13.
