The New Orleans Saints are bolstering their running back room.

The New Orleans Saints have decided to add to their stable of running backs as they look to dig their way out of last place in the NFC South. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Saints have claimed running back Audric Estime off waivers from the Cleveland Browns and released kicker Daniel Carlson in a corresponding move. Estime, 23, was just waived by the Browns on Monday after he had spent the past three games of the season in Cleveland.

The Browns signed Estime off the Vikings’ practice squad on Oct. 13 after placing running back Raheim Sanders on injured reserve with a hip injury. Running backs Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson were also dealing with injuries at the time. However, Estime struggled to make the most of his opportunities in Cleveland, running the ball nine times for just 19 yards, averaging 2.1 yards per carry.

He did find the end zone once, but it clearly wasn't enough for him to keep his job. Estime now joins a running back room that includes veterans Alvin Kamara, Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson. Saints running back Travis Etienne Jr. is on injured reserve with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain.

Estime began his professional career as a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. He appeared in 13 games as a rookie, rushing for 310 yards and two touchdowns. He then spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints before landing with the Vikings in September.

Estime played college football at Notre Dame, where he ran for 2,321 yards and 29 touchdowns from 2021-23.
