Saints Receive Promising Update on Rookie WR Jordyn Tyson

The return of New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is nearing.

New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson has been sidelined since suffering a Grade 2 right hamstring strain during an August training camp practice. However, the team received some promising news on the highly-anticipated return of Tyson. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, Tyson could return from his hamstring injury as early as next week against the Cleveland Browns, but even if that doesn't happen, his return is imminent.

The Saints have continued to remain patient as Tyson recovers from his injury, but there's no doubt they'd like him back on the field sooner rather than later. New Orleans currently sits in last place in the NFC South with a 2-5 record, but the division is still well within reach as the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons are in first and second place, respectively, with 3-4 records. Tyson would prove the Saints offense with a much-needed boost and maybe even provide the team with enough momentum to propel it back to the top of the division.

The Saints selected Tyson with the No. 8 overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Arizona State, where he recorded 136 catches for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns from 2024-25. Tyson also played college football at Colorado in 2022, when he had 22 catches for 470 yards and four touchdowns. If it weren't for Tyson's lengthy injury history, he may have gone even higher in this year's draft, so it's safe to say Saints fans are itching to see what the team has in the highly talented wide receiver.

They could be getting those answers as soon as next week.
