Thirty years after Ghostface first terrorized the residents of Woodsboro, “Scream” is celebrating its milestone anniversary with a killer new collector’s set — complete with a blood-spattered replica of the cordless phone from the film’s iconic opening scene.
The “Scream” 30th Anniversary Collector’s Set is now available to pre-order exclusively on Amazon for $109.99 ahead of its Dec. 15 release. The limited-edition release includes the original 1996 film on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, plus a digital copy and an assortment of memorabilia modeled after evidence from the fictional Woodsboro Police Department. The centerpiece is a replica of the bloody cordless phone used by Drew Barrymore’s Casey Becker in the film’s unforgettable opening sequence, which rings and plays memorable lines from the movie.
The set also features a police case-file folder housing the discs, a “Persons of Interest” suspect sheet, six Polaroid-style photographs of the film’s characters and a recreated Woodsboro newspaper clipping. The packaging takes the form of an archival evidence kit, with one additional mystery collectible left undisclosed. Directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, the original “Scream” debuted in December 1996, revitalizing the slasher genre.
The film starred Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott alongside Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan and Barrymore, whose brief but memorable appearance helped establish one of the most recognizable opening sequences in horror history. The anniversary release comes amid a major year for the franchise, which returned to theaters in February with “Scream 7.” The latest installment reunited Campbell with her longtime character Sidney Prescott and brought original screenwriter Williamson into the director’s chair. The sequel debuted to a franchise-record $64 million at the domestic box office and went on to become the highest-grossing installment in the series.
