Eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson reacted to being traded from the Indianapolis Colts to the Seattle Seahawks.

Earlier this week, the Indianapolis Colts traded veteran guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks for their 2027 third-round pick and 2028 fifth-round pick. The move ended Nelson's eight-plus seasons in Indianapolis, where he initially joined the NFL in 2018. Now in his ninth season, he'll suit up for the defending Super Bowl champions and recently expressed his thoughts on being traded to a new team.

"You know, the reaction was a little bittersweet," Nelson said at his Seahawks press conference. "Formed a lot of great relationships in Indy. Great community, but definitely excited for this next chapter." "It's a beautiful state, a really cool city; all the nature here is sick," he said.

"Getting to meet some of the guys, everyone's been super welcoming already and the coaches as well. So, and everyone, it's a family here. ... The equipment, the trainers.

Leaving everything up to God, that's it," Nelson said when asked if he was surprised by the trade despite rumors being out there.

He departs a struggling Colts team that was 2-5 and on a three-game losing streak to join a Seahawks team that is 4-3 after giving the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season. Nelson has started all 136 regular-season games he's played during his career. He achieved eight Pro Bowl selections with Indianapolis and should give the Seahawks additional frontline protection for quarterback Sam Darnold.

As of this writing, Darnold has been sacked 14 times this season, tying him with Green Bay Packers' quarterback Jordan Love for the 12th-most sacks taken in the NFL. The Seahawks will face the Chicago Bears in "Monday Night Football" on Nov. 2. On Thursday, the Bears acquired All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons in a trade with the Tennessee Titans to bolster their defense.
