The quarterback play on display in Thursday night's contest between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos was horrific. Combined, Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold and Bo Nix threw for no touchdowns. Darnold threw two interceptions, though he added 278 passing yards.
Nix threw for just 107 passing yards in the Broncos' 17-14 win over the Seahawks in overtime of "Thursday Night Football" in Week 6. Former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick called out Nix for his "garbage" play during the Prime Video broadcast. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk thinks the Seahawks need to consider making a change at quarterback amid Darnold's struggles this season.

However, he hasn't played the same since Klint Kubiak left his position as the Seahawks offensive coordinator to become the Las Vegas Raiders head coach. Darnold has thrown for 1,033 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions this season.
Florio thinks the Seahawks should have a "conversation" about turning to backup quarterback Drew Lock, who led Seattle to wins over the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals when Darnold suffered a soft-tissue glute injury in the season opener. Benching Darnold would allow the Seahawks to better address how much Darnold means to the team, as $35.5 million for 2027 hangs in the balance. "Obviously, benching Darnold would likely mean the Seahawks would move on in 2027," Florio wrote.
"His $35.5 million in compensation for next year, the last of his contract, isn’t guaranteed. He earns a $10 million roster bonus on the fifth day of the league year in March." Lock has thrown for 422 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions this season. The Seahawks are 3-3 after losing to the Broncos.
Their schedule remains tough for the next two weeks. They'll host the currently undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7 before traveling to play the Chicago Bears on "Monday Night Football" in Week 8. If Darnold continues to struggle in those games, the patience might wear thin in Seattle.
