Developed as a collaboration between Sega and Lingokids Studios, these five “Sonic” games will combine “fast-paced adventures with playful learning experiences” and feature “Sonic the Hedgehog” characters including Sonic himself, as well as Amy, Eggman and the fan-favorite Chao creatures. These games will launch Dec. 3 on Lingokids with five more “Sonic” games slated for release in spring of 2027. According to Lingokids’ 2026 Kids Interactive Entertainment Report, Sonic the Hedgehog is the second-most popular character among boys ages 3-8.
That study also showed that approximately one in six kids who use Lingokids discover new characters on the platform for the first time, and more than half ask to watch movies and shows of characters they encounter on Lingokids. So that means that you have core fans out there that you want to make sure have the tools to introduce Sonic to their kids.” Currently, Lingokids says the platform is used by more than 20 million kids each month and has reached nearly 200 million downloads worldwide. Host to more than 4,000 games, shows and songs, Lingokids has struck several high-profile partnerships with brands including Disney, Blippi, NASA, BBC Earth and Oxford University Press, in addition to its most recent deal with Sega for “Sonic.”
