What else is hiding in her finances? She says I’m treating her like a child because I want to know about her money. My mom is 82, lives alone and has always been fiercely independent.

She pays her own bills, manages her own investments and has never once asked my brother or me for financial help. Until recently, I admired that about her. Now I’m starting to worry about it.
