New Orleans Saints rookie Brock Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Scott Steiner, has made quite the impression in his brief time with the team. The NFL suspended Rechsteiner earlier this month for the first six games of the 2026 season. It’s not known exactly what his suspension is for, but if he makes New Orleans’ 53-man roster, he’ll have to wait until at least the Saints’ Oct. 25 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers to make his NFL debut.
And if he wasn’t getting enough attention for his suspension, Rechsteiner was all over social media on Tuesday for something he did during the Saints’ joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys. Training camp fights are commonplace in mid-August, but Rechsteiner took things to a whole new level when he hit Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson with a German suplex, a popular move among professional wrestlers in which they grab their opponent by the wait and throw them backward over their head. Video of the altercation went viral, garnering over 1.2 million views, 24,000 likes, and nearly 400 comments in less than six hours.
Rechsteiner initially got physical with Cowboys cornerback Caelan Carson, who grabbed his facemask after a play and tried dragging him to the ground. As Rechsteiner was defending himself, Thompson rushed in got involved. His helmet was knocked off his head within seconds, and Rechsteiner suplexed him likely not realizing he wasn’t Carson.
The 23-year-old Rechsteiner, whose cousin, Bronson Rechsteiner, goes by the ring name Bron Breakker in the WWE, has made it known he plans to pursue a career in professional wrestling like his cousin, his father, and his uncle, Rick Steiner, after his football career is over.
