Whether it’s tunes for a backyard party, an impromptu karaoke session with friends, or announcements during a kids’ softball game, one of these Sony speakers is more than capable of handling the job. Sony ULT Tower 7 for $548 ($102 Off) Sony offers several party speakers to choose from, but we like the ULT Tower 7 because it hits the sweet spot in sound quality, price, and features—especially if you fancy yourself a DJ, thanks to its multiple inputs and Bluetooth.
It pumps out 420 watts of sound output, enough for a small stage. With a 30-hour battery life, it can run from day to night. Plug in a mic, and you have got a makeshift PA system for your soapbox.
The bass might not rival a club, but your body will feel it when Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.” comes on. Our reviewer Chris Haslam wishes it had a retractable handle. It’s also heavy and big, so it isn’t something you want to move around often.
Other Sony ULT Speaker Deals Calling this the baby brother of the Tower 7 is a bit misleading—it's just as big. It has a 300-watt output, which is plenty for indoor and outdoor use. It has the same wired and wireless connectivity as the Tower 7, but it costs $200 less during the sale.
Note that it only has 20 hours of battery life, so make sure there's a power outlet nearby if you plan to go long. The ULT Field 7 is our pick for the best compact party speaker. Compared to its Tower siblings and other party boxes, it certainly is.
Reviewer Chris Haslam calls it the ideal speaker for a dorm or apartment that you can take outdoors. For a speaker of this size, it has great sound and bass. Its IP67 rating means it resists dust and water and can even handle a quick accidental dip in the pool.
