Sri Sri Ravi Shankar‘s World Forum For Art and Culture (WFAC) and Creativeland Studios have formalized a partnership to take “Krishnavataram,” a trilogy tracing the life of Hindu God Lord Krishna, to international audiences. The association was made official on Janmashtami, the Hindu festival marking the birth of Lord Krishna and one of the most widely observed celebrations on the Hindu calendar. WFAC and Creativeland Studios finalized the deal in the presence of Ravi Shankar.
The first installment, “Krishnavataram: Part 1 – Hridayam,” is directed by Hardik Gajjar and stars Siddharth Gupta as Krishna, with Sanskruti Jayana as Satyabhama, Sushmita Bhatt as Radha and Nivaashiyni Krishnan as Rukmini. The film has already had a run in Indian theaters, and the new partnership is aimed at carrying it to viewers abroad. The rollout will begin with a wider theatrical release, reaching the Indian diaspora and international audiences in the Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English languages.
WFAC and Creativeland Studios also plan to extend “Krishnavataram” into series, music, live experiences, games, education and immersive cultural programming. It is the divinity that is the most attractive; the energy that pulls everything to it. When you realize your life and the whole world is just a leela (play), then Krishna is born inside you,” Ravi Shankar said.
Producer Sajan Raj Kurup of Creativeland Studios described the partnership as an extension of Ravi Shankar’s influence on the project. With ‘Krishnavataram,’ we take pride in taking every bit of Indian culture to the world and presenting our cultural beliefs, which are a fundamental part of our very existence. Our vision is to build ‘Krishnavataram’ into a global cultural movement that celebrates cinema, art, and legacy,” Kurup said.
The partners describe the effort as an attempt to build a contemporary entry point into the Krishna story while staying grounded in the philosophical, artistic and cultural traditions the trilogy draws from. The international release of “Krishnavataram: Part 1 – Hridayam” is being positioned as the opening step in that broader push, with expansion into new formats framed as an ongoing effort rather than a single release.
