Watt has had a very good career, and he has now made some NFL history because of it. With his interception against the Atlanta Falcons, Watt has recorded the 10th interception of his career. With it, he has now become just the second player in the history of the NFL to record at least 100 sacks and 10 interceptions in their career.
According to ESPN Insights, the only other player to do this in NFL history is Julius Peppers. Sacks became official individual statistic in 1982. This is an incredible accomplishment for Watt, and it shows just how effective he has been during his career.
He has been a very important part of the Steelers' roster for a long time now and is not showing many signs of slowing down at 31 years old. Watt is currently in his 10th NFL season with the Steelers. In 135 career games with Pittsburgh over that span, he has posted 10 interceptions, 117 sacks, and 521 tackles.
With numbers like these, the eight-time Pro Bowler has had an excellent career. It will now be interesting to see how Watt builds on his 2026 season after accomplishing this historic feat in Week 1. If he keeps playing as he did against the Falcons, the Steelers should be in great shape.
