Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is off to a red-hot start in his 2026 NFL season. In Sunday's Week 1 win over the Carolina Panthers, Williams completed 21 of his 29 pass attempts for 269 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed for 65 yards and two more scores on the ground in the dominant 59-37 victory.
Williams' performance drew some serious attention around the NFL world. During Wednesday morning's episode of "First Take" on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith heaped praise on the Bears signal caller.
"I'm a huge Caleb Williams fan. I believe he's gonna win a Super Bowl for [the Bears] one day," Smith said. "I believe he is the greatest quarterback in the history of the Chicago Bears right now.
The brother is special. ... Leaping toward greatness. He is special." Williams and the Bears will look to maintain this positive momentum into this coming Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
This NFC North battle will kick off at 1 p.m.
