Without one (written, primarily, by me fiancée) I would have to start from zero every time I travel. My contributions to that list start and end with the thing I know best—tech. There are just some devices I refuse to go anywhere without taking.
In addition to my phone (duh), this is everything I bring with my when I travel. These travel gadgets aren’t even travel gadgets per se. They run the gamut from some of my favorite headphones to portable chargers and luggage tags.
Each one of them has its place in my travel routine. If I’m going on an international flight, I’m definitely bringing all eight of these items. If I’m flying domestically, I’m bringing at least seven of them.
Catching a bus or train, I can maybe slash another one or two off, but really half of it is already packed anyway. The other half is ready to go in my nightstand drawer at a moment’s notice. Most of it even fits in my backpack.
These are the eight pieces of tech I never leave home without. This is the first thing that comes out of the bottom drawer and into my backpack when I’m packing for a flight. This folding travel charger can charge my watch, phone, and AirPods all in one fell swoop.
It comes with a soft travel case, where you can easily store the charger and the included USB-C cord—I tend to be able to fit an extra small power brick and my Oura Ring charging dock in there as well. I don’t need to bother with this on domestic flights, but at this point I’m so conditioned (read: paranoid) that I more or less just take it everywhere. The cube lets me plug into any wall socket from the UK to Europe and Australia.
