The 20th anniversary companion for the Raconteurs’ debut album includes previously unreleased demos, outtakes, and their first-ever concert. On Saturday night, the group — Jack White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler, who also drums in White’s current live band — reunited for the first time in seven years. During White’s second night at Nashville’s new venue the Truth, the Raconteurs closed the show with “Steady, As She Goes,” “Hands,” “Level,” “Broken Boy Soldier,” and “Carolina Drama.” Earlier in the set, White played “Miss Being Mrs.” from Van Lear Rose, the Loretta Lynn album he produced in 2004.
A deluxe reissue of that Grammy-winning LP was announced a few days ago as it returned to streaming services, and there's a video out for the aforementioned track. Last night's show was no-phones, but David James Swanson provided proof it happened.
