While there are other storytelling players on the market, Yoto has long been a top pick with parents. It’s durable, multi-functional and — if judged by dollars-to-minutes spent — worth its weight in gold. For the uninitiated, the design is simple.

Kids insert their own content cards to listen to a huge and ever-growing library of bestselling audiobooks, music and singalongs, educational activities and podcasts. The most obvious update is a new Green Button. Parents can load up to 20 favorite stories, songs, podcasts or soundscapes into the Yoto app ahead of time, and kids twist and press to play them instantly, no card required. For independent players who want to start their own listening without hunting down a card first, it’s a great upgrade. (And let’s be real.
