Daisy Edgar-Jones might be spending a lot of time talking about romance right now thanks to her starring role in Sense and Sensibility, but offscreen, her own love story is considerably less complicated than anything Jane Austen could dream up. The actor stars as Elinor Dashwood opposite George MacKay’s Edward Ferrars in the new big-screen adaptation of Austen’s classic novel, and spoiler alert: Their fictional relationship involves longing, letters, and a truly frustrating amount of things left unsaid. Thankfully, Daisy’s IRL relationship appears to involve rather better communication.
The 28-year-old has been dating photographer Ben Seed, 37, for four years. And despite Daisy having spent much of her career opposite everyone’s fave internet boyfriends (hello, Paul Mescal and Glen Powell), the pair have kept their relationship relatively low-key. So, who exactly is Ben Seed and how did they meet?
Here’s everything you need to know. Ben Seed is a British photographer, director, and artist who works professionally under the name Pip. And if you’ve spent any time scrolling through fashion campaigns, there’s a good chance you’ve already encountered his work without realizing it.
The Yorkshire-born photographer has worked with major fashion houses, including Prada, Dior, and Louis Vuitton, while his portfolio includes portraits of some very familiar faces. Bradley Cooper, Andrew Scott, Aimee Lou Wood, and Nicola Coughlan are among the stars he’s photographed—and yes, he’s also shot Daisy herself. As for where “Pip” came from?
According to Variety, it’s a childhood nickname inspired by his last name, a pip being a small seed. Forget the Raya match or celebrity party meet-cute, because Daisy and Ben met in a surprisingly old-school way: on a blind date. Daisy revealed to British Vogue this summer that a makeup artist who had previously worked with both of them decided to set them up.
While the couple were first publicly linked in 2023, Daisy told the magazine that they had actually been together for three years at the time of the interview and would celebrate their fourth anniversary soon. They made one of their first major public appearances together at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in November 2023, before Daisy gave fans a little more insight into their relationship on Instagram the following summer. In July 2024, she included Ben in a carousel of photographs from Glastonbury, essentially giving us the celebrity relationship equivalent of an Instagram soft launch. While they have been spotted attending Wimbledon together in 2025, the pair made a rare appearance together earlier this year at the Krug & Max Richter event at London's Camden Roundhouse.
