US president Donald Trump has revealed he is “happy” that Harry and Meghan have left the US to return to the UK, declaring himself “not a fan” of the couple. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the UK last week after spending six years in the US following their move to California in 2020. After news broke of Harry and Meghan’s UK return last month, some of Trump’s MAGA allies mocked them on social media amid reports suggesting their decision to leave the United States was partly because of their dislike of Trump.
People reported that “they have made no secret of their disillusionment with the current White House” ahead of the midterm elections. This led to several of Trump’s MAGA allies commenting on their move on social media. Katie Miller, the wife of White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, commented on the news on X, linking to the article in People: “They are moving back to Britain because they don’t like President Trump.” In other posts, Miller said – without evidence – that Meghan “always just wanted to be a celebrity” and claimed that the couple was “broke.” Conservative personality Megyn Kelly also commented, saying: “We’ve done our time here in America my dear friend!”, replying to right-wing commentator Dan Wootton's post about the “Megxit” being “reversed.” Join thought-provoking conversations, follow other Independent readers and see their replies
