Tyrese Maxey Weighs in on First Workout With LeBron James, Jaylen Brown

Tyrese Maxey shared his thoughts on his first workout with new 76ers teammates LeBron James and Jaylen Brown.

The Philadelphia 76ers assembled a talented and potentially dominant starting lineup this offseason by adding former NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown and NBA legend LeBron James. Philly already featured All-Stars Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid, the latter of whom has won the NBA MVP Award, much like James has several times in his career. In addition, young talent VJ Edgecombe is emerging as a potential future All-Star.

With the season just a few months away, some of the new teammates got together in the gym to begin their work for the season ahead. Maxey linked up with Brown and James for some serious basketball preparation and had good things to say about the time they spent there. "First time all three of us worked out," Maxey said in a video clip reacting to the workout.

Great communication, great vibes, great energy. Three guys who work really hard and who take our games very seriously." More news: Former LeBron James Teammate Gives Valuable Advice Ahead of 76ers Season Maxey said he thought James was probably the first one to get to the gym, which makes sense with how seriously the 41-year-old superstar takes his craft. However, Brown and Maxey are All-Star-level players, also very dedicated to improvement.

Last season, Maxey was the 76ers' leader, averaging 28.3 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game with a 46.2% field goal percentage. Embiid wasn't too far off, averaging 26.9 points and a team-leading 7.7 rebounds to go with 3.9 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. Since bringing in Brown and James changes the team dynamic, it makes plenty of sense for Maxey, Brown, and James to get acclimated to playing together.

Brown was his team's leading scorer, averaging 28.7 points and getting nearly seven rebounds and over five assists per game. James had started accepting more of a role as a secondary or third option when he was on the Los Angeles Lakers' roster with Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves. So he's clearly embraced the different impact he could have with the 76ers, even though he still has the potential for some big nights for Philly.

Since it's a new combination of All-Star players, the more chemistry and communication they develop during the offseason, the better for achieving their championship aspirations.
