The No. 19 USC Trojans are set to travel to play a Penn State team on Saturday that has yet to beat a Power 4 program this season. The Trojans will do so without a wide receiver who has been lost for the season. Per Pete Nakos of On3, Terrell Anderson underwent season-ending surgery.
On Thursday, he was listed on the Big Ten's availability report as questionable to play the Nittany Lions. Both receptions came in USC's 41-27 loss to Oregon on Sept. 26.
Anderson, a junior from Detroit, Michigan, was a transfer from NC State. He had his best season in 2025, when he recorded 39 receptions for 629 yards and five touchdowns. Before playing Oregon, USC head coach Lincoln Riley revealed Anderson had been dealing with an injury since training camp and was expected to play a bigger role in the rest of the season.
"He was a big add," Riley said of Anderson, via Sports Illustrated. "But he had an injury that he was dealing with that essentially knocked him out for the majority of training camp. I think that combined with the emergence of the young guys has slowed some of his opportunities." "But he's now getting himself back.
Last week was the first full healthy week he's had. He's much better this week and I'd imagine he's just going to continue to get better moving forward." Anderson's loss will hurt the depth of USC's receiver corps. Through the first six games, Kayden Dixon-Wyatt is the leading receiver on the Trojans with 25 receptions for 372 yards and three touchdowns.
USC will try to get its offense back on track when it plays Penn State. After the loss to Oregon, the Trojans nearly suffered an upset by Washington in Week 5 before pulling out a 25-21 victory. or more on the NCAA, head to Newsweek Sports.
