Vice TV has greenlit the anthology docuseries “Everybody Hates,” Variety has learned exclusively. The show goes behind the scenes on polarizing figures in the sports world, with each episode profiling a different athlete. Per the official description, “Rather than asking whether these athletes deserve the hate they receive, Everybody Hates asks a different question: How did they become the people millions love, millions hate, and almost everyone has an opinion about?” Vice has also released a teaser trailer for the show, which can be seen below.
That’s exactly the kind of storytelling Vice has always done best.” The premiere episode will focus on Jake Paul, the YouTuber turned boxer who was most recently savagely knocked out by Anthony Joshua. Later episodes will take on NFL stars like Aaron Rodgers and Michael Vick, as well as WNBA star Caitlin Clark, international soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. Full episode descriptions can be found below.
The six-episode series will debut on Vice TV on Oct. 27 at 9 p.m. Select episodes will premiere the day after they air on the Vice TV YouTube channel. The series is produced by Vice Studios.
