While speaking to reporters, including the New York Post's Greg Joyce, Boone shared that Grisham is dealing with a Grade 2 sprain in his right hamstring, but in a different spot than his previous hamstring injury earlier this season. Boone also shared that there is a chance that Grisham could miss the remainder of the regular season due to his injury.
"We’ll see,” Boone said about the possibility of Grisham being out for the rest of the regular season. Keep him moving and see how long it takes." With Grisham being an important part of the Yankees' roster, it is concerning that he could end up missing the rest of the regular season. While the Yankees are comfortably in a playoff spot, the Boston Red Sox are right behind them for the top wild card spot in the American League.
Due to this, they could use a player like Grisham in their lineup right now. Grisham has appeared in 121 games this season with New York, where he has recorded 18 home runs, 59 RBI, and a .211 batting average. This is after the eight-year MLB veteran posted 34 home runs, 74 RBI, and a .235 batting average in 143 games for New York in 2025.
