The Los Angeles Lakers continued their impressive start to the 2026-27 NBA season on Wednesday night, taking down the Sacramento Kings with a 116-103 final score on the road. Luka Doncic delivered yet another stellar scoring performance, dropping 40 points to go along with nine rebounds and seven assists. When speaking to reporters postgame, Kings veteran Zach LaVine praised Doncic with a strong statement about his position amongst the best players in NBA history.
"Luka's one of the most talented players of all time. I don't think people actually give him enough credit for how good he really is. The shot-making ability is insane.
You really can't contest him," LaVine said. "It's super impressive, man. He's one of the best scorers of all time." Doncic is one of the leading favorites to claim this year's MVP trophy, averaging a league-leading 38.5 points as well as 8.1 rebounds and eight assists per game.
His elite play has resulted in wins for the Lakers, who are 7-2 to open up the season. The Lakers will look to continue their positive momentum into Friday night's NBA Cup matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers.
