Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers is not practicing on Wednesday as he continues to deal with the hamstring injury he suffered during the team's Week 1 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Flowers sustained this hamstring injury on his fifth catch in the second quarter. He was initially listed as questionable to return, but never retook the field in the Ravens' 41-23 win.
Flowers had a monster stat line before leaving the game, reeling in five catches for 150 yards and a touchdown through less than two full quarters. Multiple reports indicate that this is not a long-term injury for Flowers, who signed a massive four-year, $140 million contract extension this past offseason. If it had been a playoff contest, the star wide receiver would have reportedly returned to the game.
While Flowers may be healthy enough to play this coming Sunday, the Ravens may hold him off the field out of an abundance of caution. Baltimore is listed as a heavy favorite over the visiting New Orleans Saints in Week 2, with or without Flowers playing. Sunday's game will kick off at 1 p.m.
