From very merry matchmaking to an absurd amount of buttercream, these series will put you in the holiday spirit. I don’t know what it is about this year (just kidding, I do, it’s *gestures broadly at everything*), but I’m not just looking forward to Christmas; I’m craving it. I want to mainline the merriment.

I need to be dunked in joy, submerged until fully saturated like a Christmas cookie in milk. Put a marshmallow-laden mug of hot cocoa in my hands, park me on the sofa with an oversized blanket, and point me in the direction of the TV… I’m more than ready to watch all things festive. But because I’m also a busy mom who gets interrupted every five minutes, I’d like my holiday streaming to be a bit more bite-sized.

Enter: cozy holiday shows. A good holiday series gives you the same warm-and-fuzzy payoff as a full-length Christmas movie (about a big-city marketing exec falling for a small-town tree farmer, perhaps?), just stretched out over several episodes so you can pace yourself. Some are over-the-top festive.

Some just have those December vibes. One of my favorites on the list even involves a surprising amount of hard crime. All of them pair beautifully with a fuzzy blanket and whatever cookie dough you’re definitely not supposed to be eating raw (shh, your secret’s safe with me).

Here are the cozy holiday shows I’m queuing up this season. Come live in the twinkle lights a little while with me, won’t you? OK, I know, but hear me out.

In this Hallmark series, Sarah Drew (yes, April from Grey’s Anatomy) plays Emily Lane, a newcomer to the quaint town of Fletcher’s Grove. There, she runs an impossibly charming Christmas shop — and keeps stumbling into murders. But trust that it is full-on cozy between all the twinkle lights and flirty banter with Peter Mooney’s Sam.
