Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6 aren't even out yet, and another Persona game has already leaked. Fittingly for Halloween, some new footage of an in-development Persona remake emerged online. It appears to be for a remake of Revelations: Persona, the first game in the series.
As Persona Central reported, about two minutes of gameplay for the remake emergedonline on Halloween. Having watched the footage, it shows the first game's protagonist exploring a school-themed dungeon before entering combat. Tatsuya Suou, the protagonist of Persona 2: Innocent Sin, also appears.
The video seems to have been made for an internal presentation, and fans have noticed it reuses some animations from Persona 4 Revival. If this is real, this remake is likely still several years away from release. I wouldn't expect it to come out until after both Persona 4 Revival, which launches in Feb. 2027, and Persona 6, which does not have a release date.
Regardless, this leaked footage suggests Atlus was happy with the response to Persona 3 Reload and wants to remake the franchise's older games in an aesthetic closer to modern Persona titles. This situation also reaffirms how Persona games have had a bad habit of leaking recently. Persona 3 Reload gameplay similarly leaked before its announcement.
Meanwhile, voice actors disappointed they weren't involved in Persona 4 Revival's production revealed that project's existence before its official reveal, and Persona 6's achievements leaked earlier this year. The constant leaks certainly can't be great for morale at Atlus. That said, the bright side of leaks is that they can get us excited for still-unannounced games.
I'm certainly excited to finally get the chance to experience a new version of Revelations: Persona, as I've never played it before.
