The Chicago Bears have found ways to win, despite using three different starting quarterbacks through four games, compiling an impressive 3-1 record. Their only loss so far this season came in a rainy, sloppy game at Chicago's Soldier Field in Week 2, when starter Caleb Williams suffered a hamstring injury. The good news was that Williams avoided serious injury, but his hamstring strain left his status uncertain on a week-to-week basis.
They've since won two games with Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent as the starting quarterbacks. Keenum was the team's starter in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles, while Bagent started this past Sunday against the New York Jets. With Williams' return still uncertain, questions remain about which quarterback might start.
However, a Week 5 decision has reportedly been made. According to ESPN 1000, head coach Ben Johnson said Bagent will start once again as Williams continues to recover. At the time, the Bears' main backup quarterback behind Williams, Bagent, was also recovering from a concussion he suffered in Week 2 after replacing Williams. Bagent returned in Week 4 as the team's starter against the New York Jets. He completed 25 of 34 passes for 268 yards, with running back Kyle Monangai scoring two rushing touchdowns for the Bears.
Following that 23-12 win, the Bears are now preparing for a Week 5 clash against their division rivals, the Green Bay Packers. Last season, the two teams split their regular-season meetings, with the Packers winning the first battle, 28-21 on Dec. 7, 2025, at Lambeau Field. The Bears, led by Williams, staged an incredible 22-16 comeback overtime win at Soldier Field on Dec. 20, 2025.
The two squads would meet again in an NFC Wild Card Game, with Williams and the Bears winning 31-27 over the Packers to advance to the NFC Divisional Round. This year's first meeting won't feature Williams for the rematch, but Ben Johnson has managed to keep Chicago winning regardless of which quarterback is under center. The matchup between heated rivals takes place on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m.
