Buffalo is preparing for a major showdown with Baltimore, and a top receiver could be returning just in time to help Josh Allen.

The Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens will meet Sunday in an important AFC showdown, with Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen set to battle it out once again, this time at the new Highmark Stadium. Buffalo enters Week 8 at 5-1, leading the AFC East, while Baltimore is 4-3 and trying to snap a two-game losing streak. The Bills are coming off their bye week with an opportunity to grab an even stronger hold of the division, while the Ravens desperately need a win to keep pace in a competitive AFC North.

Just hours before the massive showdown, the Bills received some encouraging news on top wide receiver DJ Moore, who, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, is expected to play. Moore missed the previous two games with a shoulder injury, and while he's currently listed as questionable, reports suggest he's trending toward returning to the lineup. He played through the injury the following two games, but it was clearly bothering him, seeing just two targets in the loss to the Patriots in Week 4 before being held out and missing the following two weeks against the Rams and Raiders. On the season, Moore's hauled in 12 catches on 20 targets for 178 yards and one touchdown, basically all in just two games as the injury limited his availability in the other two games he appeared in. Dalton Kincaid, Khalil Shakir, and Keon Coleman are all valuable pass catchers for Allen, but Moore is their most explosive receiving threat and has unlocked a new element of this offense.

Buffalo wanted to give Allen another proven playmaker who could instantly elevate the passing game, and the move also reunited Moore with head coach Joe Brady, who previously worked with him with the Carolina Panthers. Moore's connection with Allen has looked strong when he's been on the field, with Allen continuously looking his way, and Moore's ability to stretch the field has put pressure on opposing defenses.

Getting him back gives the Bills offense a massive boost, especially against a Baltimore defense that's given up a lot of big plays in recent weeks.
