The Arizona Cardinals used a No. 4 overall pick on wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. in the 2024 NFL Draft. And so far, the franchise hasn't seen a very good return on that investment. Harrison is off to a slow start in his third professional campaign, reeling in just one catch on four targets through the Cardinals' first two games of the 2026 season.
Fellow wide receivers Kendrick Bourne and Michael Wilson have seen way more of the target share, combining for 25 targets thus far. The Cardinals are led in receiving by superstar tight end Trey McBride, who already has 17 catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur was asked about Harrison's lack of usage during a press conference on Monday.
"That's a great question, because I know it's just like 'just get some easy completions to get him going,'" LaFleur replied. "That's fine, we also have Trey McBride who is one of the best underneath guys in the world and there’s only about 60-65 plays a game.” After mounting an upset over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1, the Cardinals fell in a blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. Arizona will look to get back on track in a Week 3 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers this coming Sunday.
