On Sep. 16, New York Yankees superstar slugger Aaron Judge left the team's contest against the Minnesota Twins early due to injury. Now, the Yankees have provided an update on Judge, and it is certainly not a good one. While speaking to reporters, including MLB.com's Bryan Hoch, Yankees manager Aaron Boone shared that Judge is expected to be out for their AL Wild Card series against the Boston Red Sox.
"We're planning on him not being a part of that," Boone said about Judge. Boone also shared that Judge is dealing with a moderate-grade calf strain. This comes after he missed over three months of action with a fractured top right rib.
With Judge being the Yankees' top star, it is undoubtedly bad news that he is expected to be out for their playoff series against the Red Sox. However, New York will need to find a way to adjust against their biggest rival with Judge being out of the lineup. Judge played in just 66 games this season due to injury, where he recorded 18 home runs, 41 RBI, and a .241 batting average.
This is after he had 53 home runs, 114 RBI, and a .331 batting average in 152 games last season for New York.
