After a stalled red-zone drive against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4, Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and quarterback Patrick Mahomes got into a spirited argument on the sideline at Allegiant Stadium. The Chiefs would ultimately go on to win the game with a 30-27 final score, extending their record to 4-0. On Thursday, after the Chiefs' Week 5 bye, Bieniemy addressed this incident when speaking to reporters.
"I have no problem with guys venting their frustrations," Bieniemy explained. "I want them to feel comfortable sharing that stuff with me. I'd rather him vent his frustrations to me than somewhere else where it's not taken the right way." The Chiefs have one of the best offensive units in the NFL to this point in the 2026 season, ranking second in total yards per game (412) and fifth in points per game (29.5).
Mahomes is back to his elite ways this year, bouncing back from the ACL tear he suffered in Week 15 of the 2025 season. The 4-0 Chiefs will face off against the 0-5 Los Angeles Chargers in a Week 6 matchup this coming Sunday.
