The Washington Commanders are set to face the New York Giants for their Week 5 matchup on Sunday. The Commanders will be looking to bounce back against the Giants, as they lost to the Indianapolis Colts in their most recent game by a 30-13 final score. Now, as the Commanders prepare for their matchup against the Giants, they have received some promising news regarding quarterback Jayden Daniels.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Daniels is on track to being the Commanders' starting quarterback for Week 5 if all goes swimmingly this week at practice. "Jayden Daniels, with the elbow, is it time? Can he come back for this week's game against the Giants?
Well, he practiced last week and was able to go through some things to see how he could handle it, and it looks like if he has good week of practice, that he is on track to be the guy to start for the Commanders against the Giants," Garafolo said. Hearing that Daniels is expected to start Week 5 is great news for the Commanders. Daniels has not played for the Commanders since their Sept. 20 game against the Dallas Cowboys after entering injury his elbow.
Yet, with this update from Garafolo, it appears Daniels has good shot of returning against the Giants. In two games this season for the Commanders, Daniels has thrown three touchdowns, zero interceptions, 51 pass attempts, and 260 passing yards. The three-year NFL veteran has also completed 56.9% of his passes.
