This past weekend of college football was littered with storylines, but safe to say everybody's eyes were on LSU vs. The two powerhouse programs met under the bright lights on Saturday night in Death Valley, and in Lane Kiffin's debut as head coach at LSU, he led the Tigers to a commanding 51-10 victory. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has come under intense scrutiny since, with early buyout numbers already surfacing.

The offense was held to just 145 total yards and, after a field goal on the opening drive, didn't score again until late in the fourth quarter, by which point the game was already well out of reach. LSU has a talented roster, and Kiffin has won everywhere he's gone.
But LSU was also just a 10-point favorite over Clemson entering the game, and many expected this to be a rebound year for Swinney's Tigers. What makes Saturday's loss even worse is that it's just a small part of a recent trend for the program. Last season, the Tigers finished 7-6 under Swinney, the face of Clemson football for 19 years.
