The Philadelphia Eagles suffered their first loss of the 2026 NFL season on Monday night, falling to the Chicago Bears with a disappointing 27-7 final score on the road. Backup running back Tank Bigsby lost a fumble in the first quarter, and backup quarterback Andy Dalton threw a costly interceptions in the end zone while Jalen Hurts was evaluated for a concussion.
As the Eagles attempted to fight their way back in the second half, Hurts threw an interceptions of his own. Philadelphia wide receiver DeVonta Smith delivered a blunt assessment of these turnover issues when speaking to reporters postgame. Smith led the Eagles in receiving with six catches for 65 yards, but his production wasn't enough to overcome the Case Keenum-led Bears.
Keenum, the 38-year-old veteran filling in for injured quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent, finished the game with 247 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. The Eagles will face off against the Los Angeles Rams in their next matchup this coming Sunday.
