During the RNC midterm convention, President Donald Trump gave voters a financial incentive to vote for Republicans in the midterms. About an hour into his speech, Trump said that if Republicans win the House and the Senate he'll issue a $5,000 dividend check to millions of Americans because of the economic prosperity the country will experience. Trump said America was making "so much money" that he was able to promise Americans thousands of dollars in the future.
"Because of our tremendous strength and success economically, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000," Trump said. "Very much like a successful company will do a cash distribution to its shareholders." Trump added that the dividend must be spent in the United States of America, saying he doesn't want people going to Canada, China or Germany to spend the money. It's unclear how the government would monitor the spending of the dividends.
"If the Republicans win, you win with us and you get $5,000. It will be called the Trump dividend," Trump said. This is a breaking news story.
