The 78th Emmy Awards have arrived, withThe Pitt seeking to secure its spot in television history while Widow's Bay will ride a storm of buzz into Monday night’s ceremony at Los Angeles’s Peacock Theater. Mariska Hargitay, a three-time Emmy winner and long-standing star of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, takes on hosting duties for NBC. The network has rolled out a peacock blue carpet for the occasion, marking its 100th anniversary.
The broadcast will also honour landmark television milestones, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the 50th anniversary of Charlie's Angels, with cast members from both shows among the presenters. The Emmys telecast rotates between the broadcast networks, and this year it’s airing live on NBC and streaming live on Peacock at 8 p.m. Live from E!: Countdown to the Emmys will show stars arriving beginning at 5 p.m.

Hacks got the most nominations of any comedy for its fifth and final season on HBO Max, and star Jean Smart is a virtual lock to make it 5-for-5 with yet another win for best actress in a comedy.
