The 2026 Emmy Awards are underway in Los Angeles, recognizing the year’s most acclaimed series. Hosted by Law & Order star Mariska Hargitay, the 78th annual ceremony is airing live on NBC and streaming on Peacock from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. The Pitt leads the crowd with a whopping 25 total nominations, followed by the final season of Hacks with 24 and newcomer Widow’s Bay with 19.
This year’s ceremony has been spread across three nights, with several categories having been announced last weekend. Kate O'Flynn took home the first trophy during Monday night’s ceremony for her supporting role in the new comedy series Widow’s Bay. Just moments later, Jean Smart made Emmys history, tying Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Cloris Leachman for the most overall acting wins (eight) in Emmy history.
